Rānui Solar Farm’s main contractor, K&T Construction, has now left the site after seven months, as all of the work associated with the panels and DC wiring is now complete. They have done a fantastic job and have been friendly, professional, and dealt with issues promptly and efficiently as they arose. Thanks – we couldn’t have done it without you!
Because of the size of the solar farm and the connection to the 33 kV line, the next stage needs to be carried out systematically and carefully. We are awaiting further engineering studies before the farm can be connected to the 33 kV line.
The next stage of the project involves work required to connect the solar farm to Marlborough Lines Limited’s 33 kV line. Independent Line Services are in the process of installing the 33 kV cables between our equipment and the line. Power Electronics, who supplied the invertors, which convert DC to AC, will arrive next week to start commissioning the invertors.
