Rānui Solar Farm began generating electricity in March 2026.
The locally owned and operated solar farm can generate up to 9.9 MW of clean, renewable energy.
Solar generation adds another form of clean, renewable energy to meet demand and will mean that Marlborough (NZ) is less reliant on the national grid supply, thus improving the province’s security of electricity supply at a time of growing demand.
Marlborough is a province where innovation and enterprise saw the development of the award-winning wine industry. Likewise, Rānui Solar Farm combines the region’s sunny climate (2769 sunshine hours in 2024) with technology and expertise to benefit the province.
Rānui Solar Ltd is a division  of the Marlborough-based Flight Group.
